The Service Dog Connection breeds only dogs that are genetically tested, OFA/PennHIP cleared, and of sound temperament. We breed Golden Retrievers, Labradors, Newfoundlands, and mixes of those breeds.
All of our litters are raised with early neuro-stim and Puppy Culture, given lots of socialization, and will go home with a health exam from our veterinarian, deworming, their first puppy shot and microchip. At 7 weeks old a local trainer puts each puppy through the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test to determine what each puppy is best suited for: service dog work, therapy dog work, or pet life. We keep 2-3 service dog candidates per litter for our training program and adopt out the rest. Puppies that we do not keep can go to service and therapy dog programs, individuals wanting to train their own working dog, or into pet homes based on a puppy's temperament.
Companion Animal Medical Project (CAMP) works closely with the unhoused communities of Central Oregon to help support them and their pets. Peanut Butter (mom) was scheduled to get spayed but got pregnant while waiting for her spay appointment. We are whelping and raising this sweet little family of 6 pups (DOB 2/13/2024) for CAMP until they are old enough to be vaccinated, fixed, and found homes. We are raising this litter the same way we do with our breeding program litters and they are receiving Early Neurological Stimulation, early socialization, and Puppy Culture to give them the best start to life. If interested in donating to help with the care of these pups or are interested in adopting one of these pups when they are old enough, please reach out to CAMP directly. https://www.campclinics.org/
Street Dog Hero is a rescue that works to find strays and shelter dogs homes. Their dogs generally come from local indigenous reservations, shelter dogs from overcrowded California shelters, and the streets of Mexico. We were asked to help care for a young litter of 6 pups from the Warm Springs Reservation and couldn't say no! They are two weeks older than Peanut Butter's pups and are learning great social skills from PB and the other litter. These puppies will be adoptable once old enough to be vaccinated, and spayed/neutered. If interested in adopting one of these older pups, please reach out to Street Dog Hero directly. https://www.streetdoghero.org/

If the breeding was successful, we will have Labrador puppies in Late April/Early May
Louise is a health tested Newfoundland that is part of our service dog breeding program. We will be crossing her with a Golden Retriever or Lab/Golden Cross during this next breeding specifically to get extra large service dog candidates for mobility assistance.

Blaze will be a therapy dog with a family that raised his dad, Beck.
Louise, our Newfoundland, gave birth to 9 health puppies on July 3, 2023. Louise is our resident therapy dog that was bred with an English Labrador named Ringo. Both parents have been health tested. These pups were raised with Puppy Culture and early neurological stimulation. At 7 weeks old they went through a temperament test to determine who has service dog potential, who has therapy dog potential, and who is best suited as a pet. We had 7 service dog candidates and 2 pet candidates.
Our program kept Hero, Honey Lemon & Haven. Stella went to Summit Assistance Dogs in Washington. Nikko went to Partners with Paws Service Dogs in Wisconsin. Journey went to K9s 4 Mobility in Wyoming. Zora went to Angel Paws Assistance Dogs in California.

Florence is a Labrador/Golden Cross female from Guide Dogs of America. She has an amazing temperament and will be part of our breeding program as long as she passes health tests.
Indigo is a puppy from our Bitsy x Beck Labrador litter. She is still a young pup, but if she continues on the track that she has been and passes health testing once she is older, then we will keep her in our breeding program.
Maple is a Golden Retriever female that whelped our first litter in our breeding program. Three of her puppies from that litter are fully trained working service dogs, and three are certified therapy dogs.
